Welcome to PHYS 306 at Gonzaga University

This is the first semester of Electricity and Magnetism, taught by A. Greer.  We cover the following topics: vector analysis, electrostatics, special techniques, electric fields in matter, magnetostatics, magnetic fields in matter, electrodynamics, and end with electromagnetic waves.  This course is designed to give a solid introduction to the basics of Electricity and Magnetism for students who will either go on to take the second semester (PHYS 407) and graduate school, or those looking to graduate and pursue a career in industry.

The text for the course is Introduction to Electrodynamics, 3rd edition, by David Griffiths.
