Welcome to PHYS 217 at Gonzaga University

This is the Modern Physics Laboratory, taught by A. Greer.  In this laboratory course we will learn about and perform many of the classic experiments that led to the development of Modern Physics.  Most of these should have been covered, at least briefly, in the PHYS 205 course, which you should at least be taking concurrently with this laboratory course.  A list of the labs available (in no particular order) to be done is:

Lab Title
Oscilloscope Lab (only for those who have not had electronics)
Photoelectric Effect
Franck-Hertz experiment
Electron Diffraction
Michelson Interferometer
Charge of electron with an NPN transistor
Gamma Ray energy spectra
NIM electronics and Coincidence techniques
Electron Spin/Paramagnetic Resonance
