Welcome to Greer's section of PHYS 102 for the Spring 2007 semester

This is the second semester of algebra-based physics.  Topics covered include thermodynamics, electrostatics, electrodynamics, magnetism, and optics.  If time permits, we will do a little special relativity.  This course is designed primarily for health science majors, and that is primarily who takes it.

You should feel free to ask a question at any time either in class or out of class.  I am around most of the day most days.  I can be reached at the e-mail address and phone number on my home page (see link below).  You can also get to a page showing my schedule, including office hours, from the home page as well.

The grading goes as follows:

Tests 65%
Homework
10%
Final Exam
25%
TOTAL
100%

The text for the course is Physics, 7th edition, by Cutnell and Johnson.  This is the same text you used in PHYS 101.  The homework questions and problems will be assigned from an on-line service called WebAssign

The FINAL EXAM will be on Tuesday, May 8, 2007, from 8:00 - 10:00 am in Herak 257.  It is a comprehensive
final exam.
