Physics Instructor

FLATHEAD VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Typical duties of the Physics Instructor include: 

  • Responsibility for the physics program
  • Teaching physics courses, labs and some math courses
  • Curriculum development and program assessment
  • Manage and maintain physics lab
  • Follow proper laboratory safety protocol as outlined by OSHA
  • Participate in committee work
  • Student Advising
  • Fulfill all academic responsibilities as outlined in the current collective bargaining agreement

 

Required Qualifications:

·         Master’s degree or higher in physics or closely related field

 

Preferred Qualifications

·         Master’s degree or higher in physics

·         Teaching experience in a post-secondary setting

·         Demonstrated ability to teach freshman and sophomore physics courses, including physics laboratories.

·         Demonstrated ability to foster an effective learning environment in a college classroom and laboratory setting.

·         Awareness of the community college mission and reflection of that mission in the classroom.

 

This is a permanent (tenure track), full-time position which begins Fall 2008.  Pay range is $29,743 - $47,141 and includes competitive benefits.
